Learn with Leaders is delighted to announce its next cohort of the research writing program, the Research Scholars Program in collaboration with Harvard Student Agencies at Harvard University for high school students aspiring to be future researchers and academicians starting September 25! The Research Scholars Program by Harvard Student Agencies at Harvard University The Research Scholars Program is focused on the fundamentals of research and research writing. Under the guidance of Harvard Student Agencies, students would delve into the basics of research i.e. Types of research, forming hypotheses, research writing formats, finding accurate sources, citations, conducting primary experiments, literature review and so much more. Finally, the program would culminate in students coming up with their own thesis and producing a 1500-2000 word research report and presenting it. Research areas

DEBATING BOOTCAMP-HARVARD STUDENT AGENCY

Learn with Leaders is glad to invite applications for the exclusive cohort of the Debating Bootcamp by Harvard Student Agencies at Harvard University starting September 10, for high school students aspiring to learn the art of debating. Debating Bootcamp by Harvard Student Agencies at Harvard University. Students learn about the art of debating over 3 weekends, curated and taught by nationally ranked debaters from Harvard University. Over the course of 3 weekends, students learn directly from former and current Harvard debaters who can give you all the tips and tricks they will need to thrive in their debating careers. From learning the history of debate to researching and defending their own debate topic, students become an expert debater with a foundation established in a new skill. ACCESS TO CRISIS COUNSELORS

Starting July 16, 2022, you can call, text, or chat 988 from anywhere in the United States to be connected to a trained crisis counselor. 988 offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing mental health-related distress. That could be: Thoughts of suicide Mental health or substance use crisis, or Any other kind of emotional distress People can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. 988 serves as a universal entry point so that no matter where you live in the United States, you can reach a trained crisis counselor who can help.

ELECTION WORKERS NEEDED

The City Clerk Office has paid positions for students to work on election days, Sept 6 & Nov 8. The dates are PD days for teachers so students have no school on the dates. Students need to be 16 or older. If interested, contact City Clerk, Lisa Kent at lkent@beverlyma.gov
