BHS OPEN MIC NIGHT

HONOR A TEACHER

May 3-7, 2021 is  Teacher Appreciation Week !  Let's show our BHS faculty, staff and administrators our  thanks  for their tremendous efforts this school year.  It's been a very challenging time due to remote and hybrid instructional models, but our educators have done an amazing job.   The  Beverly Education Foundation's Annual Honor A Teacher  drive promotes the honoring of "teachers" to include all exemplary educators who have made a positive difference in the life of a Beverly public school student. Funds raised go directly to fund teacher/parent grants, which are awarded each spring.  " Honor a Teacher" who has made a difference in your students' life. CORRECTION TO MCAS SCHEDULE

Dear Students and Parents, In the video that was sent out explaining the MCAS schedule, an error was made in explaining the schedule for all students who are participating remotely.  An older hybrid schedule was used and not the current schedule that the school is using.               The schedule below is the schedule that will be followed for Tuesday, May 4, Wednesday, May 5, Tuesday, May 11 and Wednesday, May 12.  Students who are not taking the MCAS test including RLA students will join their classes remotely in both morning and afternoon sessions.  They have GH classes in the afternoon on Tuesdays and advisory followed by 19 minute asynchronous classes on Wednesdays. SCHEDULE CHANGE INFORMATION

  Dear BHS Families, On Wednesday, April 28, the Beverly School Committee voted for the high school to return to a full schedule on Thursday, May 13. That means all students will attend school from 8:15 to 2:33.  Students will have a lunch period in their schedule.  The full schedule is posted below. Faculty and staff will check in with students and review the schedule during this week.  If parents have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s assistant principal: Ms Ferrara at jferrara@beverlyschools.org , Phil Coddaire at pcoddaire@beverlyschools.org and Mark Thomas at mthomas@beverlyschools.org   Also, just a reminder that all 10th graders and some 11th graders will be taking the English Language Arts MCAS on Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5 starting at 8:15.  Only students taking the MCAS will be in the building.  All other students will attend their classes remotely for the day.  This link is a video that explains the MCAS schedule for both English and Math MCAS.

AEGIS POETREE

Aegis, the school's literary journal, invites you to add your own poetry to Aegis' Poetree on Thursday and Friday, April 29th and 30th.  Tags and pencils will be available for you to write your own poem or happy thought. We will be adding them to the tree for everyone to enjoy. Don't be shy. It's poetry if you say it is!
